Philips 32PF7321 32-Inch Widescreen LCD TV

32″ Widescreen LCD, ATSC Qam/NTSC integrated TV tuner, Beautiful style, Big picture, 10 watt sound system, Pixel Plus for greater resolution, HDMI, 2 HD Component, VGA, 600:1 contrast ratio, 2 Component inputsEnjoy a wonderfully vivid picture with the stylish 26-inch Philips 32PF7321, which uses Philips’ exclusive Pixel Plus video processor to increase the number of lines and the number of pixels. The result is razor sharp pictures with incredible detail and dept, every time from any source. It has a built-in ATSC tuner that pulls HD signals right from the airwaves (via an optional antenna), and its QAM tuner is fully compatible with unscrambled HDTV cable reception. You can also hook up an HDMI-capable cable or satellite set-top box and enjoy the the highest standard of high-definition audio and video–with a single cord connection. A standard analog NTSC tuner receives standard-definition (SD) programming. It comes with a removable tabletop stand, and this set can be wall-mounted with optional hardware.

The 32PF7321 delivers a true 1366 x 768-pixel HDTV resolution (capable of displaying 1080i and 720p high-definition signals), and it offers a very fast 8ms (millisecond) response time, which is great for watching fast-moving. sports and action movies. It also features a wide 176-degree viewing angle, 500 cd/m2 (candela per square meter) brightness rating–perfect for viewing colorful details in even direct sunlight–and a dynamically adjusting contrast enhancer with up to a 2400:1 contrast ratio. The Philips dynamic contrast enhancer uses video processing and unique dimming backlight technology. This delivers deep rich black levels with increased detail. The dimming backlight increases the contrast up to 5 times, and at the same time improves the viewing angle.

The 3D comb filter further enhances resolution by removing blurred edges between colors and reducing dot crawl (tiny, moving dots of color along a sharp color separation in a vertical line, as in a depiction of a character’s striped T-shirt). This set also performs 3:2 pulldown detection and reversal, too–a handy feature for watching progressive-scan movie programs in their native 24-frame format. To adapt 24 frames-per-second movies to 30 fps video, frames in the original movie must be duplicated; 3:2 pulldown digitally corrects this duplication by removing the redundant information to display a frame-accurate picture. Convenience features include seven widescreen modes, subtitle display (with zoom), and V-Chip parental controls.

Experience great stereo sound from built-in 15-watt speakers (with a total power output of 30 watts). This set also can produce Dolby Digital virtual surround sound and it has a sound-leveling feature that automatically prevents the jumps in volume between programs and commercials. It offers the following connection options: Composite AV (RCA): 4 in S-Video: 2 in Component Video: 2 in HDMI: 1 in RF: 1 in The USB port on the side allows access to multimedia JPEG, MP3, MP3-PRO, and ALB (photo slideshow) files of most USB memory drives and most digital cameras (USB 1.1 memory-class device). Plug the USB connector into the slot at the side of the TV and access your photos or music files.

Tech Talk
HDMI is a lossless, uncompressed, all-digital audio/video interface to link any audio/video source (such as a set-top box, DVD player, or AV receiver) with your TV–all over a single cable. HDMI supports standard, enhanced or high definition video, plus multi-channel digital audio on a single cable. It supports all ATSC formats–standard (SDTV), enhanced (EDTV), and high (HDTV).

Component video (also called Y/Pb/Pr) features a three-jack video input, which provides separate connections for luminance (Y), blue color difference (PB) and red color difference (PR). This results in increased bandwidth for color information, resulting in a more accurate picture with clearer color reproduction and less bleeding than you would get with S-Video or composite (RCA yellow video plug) connections. You will need a separate RCA left/right audio cable for sound.

  1. Affordable HDTV – great picture, good sound, attractive cabinet I have been looking long and hard for a good, affordable HDTV. The Philips 32PF7321D fits the bill. The picture is first rate. The sound is very good. (Use the personal settings to boost the high end on the built in EQ menu for greater clarity). The remote control is decent.OUTSTANDING SD (Standard Definition) reception – absolutely the very best of any brand I looked at – at any price. It runs cool and uses much less electricity (only 140 watts) than Plasma or CRTs…

  2. Buy this TV if your looking for a Great LCD HDTV I have owned this TV for about a week. I spent hours researching LCD TV’s and then watched them side by side at Best Buy, Costco, and Sam’s Club My research showed that LCD’s in whole are not able to reproduce blacks like plasma can, but they are now as bright if not brighter than plasma. This TV’s picture can easily be seen in a brightly lit room, no need to close blinds or dim lights. This TV has great contrast and reproduces blacks as well as any LCD TV I have looked at. Many…

  3. Brilliant HDTV I bought this TV a few weeks ago and so far so good. The resolution is incredibly clear, specially with HD channels. I have an XBOX 360 and I was amazed the first time I plugged it in to this TV, not only because of the crystal-clear image, but also because of the loud and clear sound. So if you’re looking for an affordable TV but also want to get the most out of it, I recommend you buy this one. It’s Not cheap or expensive like a Sony or Samsung and you’re probably going to get about the…
